Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist (RT) to support a geriatric population in a skilled nursing setting. The role requires licensure (RRT/CRT) in the state, BLS certification, and the ability to work independently on a Saturday-Sunday schedule.

Responsibilities include assessments, initiating therapies, documenting progress, and participating in IDT meetings. Experience with tracheostomy and LT care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT in the practicing state.
• BLS certification in the practicing state.
• Ability to evaluate and treat independently without supervision.
• Experience in a long-term care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments and implement respiratory therapies for diverse conditions.
• Initiate therapies, maintain records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Perform bedside respiratory treatments.
• Conduct nursing in-services quarterly.
• Maintain daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheostomy care.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Track, audit and manage caseload.
• Perform related duties as required.
