Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset in New York is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. You will assess, initiate therapies, document care, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support geriatric residents.

Applicants must hold an AS or BS in Respiratory Therapy and be licensed as an RRT or CRT with current BLS certification. Tracheotomy experience and long-term care exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• Experience with tracheotomy preferred.
• Geriatric care experience is valued.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and performs respiratory therapies to evaluate and rehabilitate residents.
• Initiate therapies, document patient records, operate and maintain equipment.
• Perform bedside treatments and participate in quarterly in-services for staff.
• Maintain daily, weekly and monthly documentation and attend IDT meetings.
