Job summary

The Encore at Boca Raton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our skilled nursing team. The RT must hold a state license and be able to evaluate and treat independently, with a focus on geriatric residents and functional therapies to enhance their experience.

Responsibilities include conducting assessments, initiating therapies, performing bedside treatments, and maintaining documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques for rehab patients.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete bedside treatments including oxygen therapy, oxygen weaning, aerosol therapy, PEP therapy, deep breathing and coughing, respiratory muscle training, Incentive Spirometry, chest physiotherapy, and suctioning.
• Airway management/assessment and CPR; pulmonary function testing; high-flow oxygen; walk tests.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Daily, weekly and monthly documentation; attend IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy; long-term care setting experience.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols; tracking, auditing and caseload management.

Looking for a talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain and progress the rehab patients with many different Respiratory illness/diseases and non respiratory illness.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
