Job summary

The Encore At Boca Raton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team in Boca Raton, FL. You will assess residents and independently administer respiratory therapies while maintaining comprehensive patient records and participating in care planning with the IDT.

Applicants must hold a COARC-accredited AS or BS in Respiratory Therapy, be licensed as RRT or CRT in Florida, and have BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience in long-term care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform assessments and implement respiratory techniques to aid rehab patients with various conditions.
• Initiate therapies, document and manage patient records; operate and maintain equipment.
• Provide bedside treatments including oxygen, aerosols, PEP, chest physiotherapy, suctioning and airway management.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff quarterly and participate in IDT meetings.
• Track, audit and manage caseload; adhere to facility procedures and protocols.

Looking for a talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain and progress the rehab patients with many different Respiratory illness/diseases and non respiratory illness.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
  • Oxygen therapy
  • Oxygen weaning
  • Aerosol therapy
  • PEP therapy
  • Deep breathing and coughing
  • Respiratory muscle training
  • Incentive Spirometry
  • Chest physiotherapy
  • Oro/Naso-pharyngeal suctioning
  • Tracheo-bronchial suctioning and tracheostomy care
  • Airway management/assessment
  • Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
  • Pulmonary function testing
  • High-flow oxygen
  • 6- and 2-minute walk testing
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing BLS certification.
