Job summary

The Encore at Boca Raton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Boca Raton, FL is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our geriatric care team. The RT will evaluate and treat residents, perform bedside therapies, and contribute to interdisciplinary care.

Candidates must hold an active state license (RRT or CRT), graduate from a COARC accredited program, and maintain BLS. Prior LTC experience and ability to work weekends are a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited respiratory program and licensed RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the practicing state; BLS certification current.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to progress rehab patients.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Provide bedside treatments including oxygen, aerosols, PEP, chest physiotherapy and suctioning.
• Attend in-services for nursing staff every quarter and document daily/weekly/monthly.
• Participate in IDT meetings and assist with caseload tracking and auditing.
• Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care setting; follow facility protocol.

Respiratory Therapist (RT)

Looking for a talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain and progress the rehab patients with many different Respiratory illness/diseases and non respiratory illness.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
  • Oxygen therapy
  • Oxygen weaning
  • Aerosol therapy
  • PEP therapy
  • Deep breathing and coughing
  • Respiratory muscle training
  • Incentive Spirometry
  • Chest physiotherapy

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
