Job summary

Palmetto Subacute Care Center in Sunset, FL is seeking a licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) to join our geriatric care team.

The role requires evaluating and treating residents independently, initiating therapies, documenting care, and coordinating with nursing staff. The position is scheduled for weekends, with duties including oxygen therapy, airway management, and patient assessments in a Skilled Nursing environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program and licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state of practice plus BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory assessments and treatments for residents with various respiratory and non-respiratory conditions.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Provide a variety of bedside treatments including oxygen therapy, airway suctioning, chest physiotherapy, and related procedures.
• Conduct quarterly in-services for nursing staff and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly documentation.
• Attend IDT meetings and manage caseload; experience with tracheotomy and long-term care setting.

Looking for a talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain and progress the rehab patients with many different Respiratory illness/diseases and non respiratory illness.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
  • Oxygen therapy
  • Oxygen weaning
  • Aerosol therapy
  • PEP therapy
  • Deep breathing and coughing
  • Respiratory muscle training
  • Incentive Spirometry
  • Chest physiotherapy
  • Oro/Naso-pharyngeal suctioning
  • Tracheo-bronchial suctioning and tracheostomy care
  • Airway management/assessment
  • Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
  • Pulmonary function testing
  • High-flow oxygen
  • 6- and 2-minute walk testing
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
