Job summary

Easterseals New Jersey is seeking a Mental Health Residential Counselor to support individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges in a Manalapan-based group home. The role emphasizes daily living support, IRP-based outcomes, and compliance with ENJ policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mental health, psychology, sociology, social work, human services or related field from an accredited college or university OR
• A combination of one or more years’ college plus related life or work experience equal to four years OR
• High school diploma or GED plus four years of related work or life experience required.

Responsibilities

• Communicates clearly, professionally, and concisely via verbal and written channels.
• Provides daily living assistance and supports IRP goals while adhering to licensing, regulatory, and ENJ policies.
• Operates transport for consumers in buses or vans as needed.
• Supports residents during varying shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Safely transports service recipients to activities within the community.
