Job summary

Easterseals New Jersey is seeking a Mental Health Residential Counselor to support residents with daily living activities, following IRPs and ENJ policies. The role requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to transport residents as part of assigned duties.

The position involves teamwork, compassionate engagement, and adherence to core values while providing high-quality services to individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health needs.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook/Excel/Word) required.
• Bachelor’s degree in mental health, psychology, sociology, social work, human services or related field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities.
• Ensure compliance with IRP and ENJ policies.
• Maintain safety and crisis intervention when needed.
• Transport residents as required by shifts and licensing.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with team and families.
• Support service activity across varying shifts including weekends and holidays.

4 years total experience via college+life/work
