Job summary

Emmanuel Hospice in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a Weekend Registered Charge Nurse to lead our extended care team. This full-time weekend role offers strong leadership, direct patient care, and hands-on hospice service with a schedule of Sat/Sun/Mon 8a-8p.

Annual salary up to $95,000 plus generous benefits and PTO. The successful candidate will triage calls, supervise weekend staff, conduct hospice assessments, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure compassionate, continuous care for

Qualifications

• Michigan RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience, 4+ years preferred.
• Hospice or leadership experience preferred.
• BSN preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and decision-making abilities.
• Independence and clinical confidence.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate patient care by triaging calls, completing visits, attending death visits, and ordering supplies/equipment.
• Lead and supervise weekend care teams, ensuring smooth operations and continuity of care.
• Conduct hospice assessments, symptom management visits, and support patient admissions.
• Triage patient and family calls, providing timely clinical judgment and guidance.
• Educate families, caregivers and patients during end-of-life transitions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to maintain consistent, compassionate care.
• Mentor nursing staff, promote team cohesion and uphold care standards during weekends.
