Job summary

Village of Villa Park is seeking a Weekend Recreation Center Custodian to keep our facilities clean and welcoming. The role involves cleaning spaces, maintaining surfaces, and preparing rooms for events at the Recreation Center and Parks facilities.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and can work Saturdays and Sundays, with potential extra hours. Training is provided, and safety is a priority.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Custodial experience preferred, training provided.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong customer service mindset.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stay active.

Responsibilities

• Keep rooms, halls, fitness center, gym, and common areas spotless.
• Make furniture, décor, and artwork sparkle.
• Ensure restrooms and high-touch areas stay clean and safe.
• Prepare rooms for programs, events, receptions, and meetings.
• Help maintain outdoor areas, sweeping, clearing walkways, tidying grounds.
• Watch for maintenance needs and report unusual issues.
• Use cleaning tools and equipment safely and effectively.
