Job summary

Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC is hiring a Radiologic Technologist for weekend, part-time coverage on the 1st shift (Sat & Sun, 8:00 AM–6:30 PM). You will perform radiographs, explain procedures to patients, position patients using appropriate devices, and assist physicians with fluoroscopic procedures and other imaging tasks.

Required qualifications include AMA approved School of Radiology Technology or ARRT Certification, plus BLS; ARRT certification or ability to obtain ARRT within 12

Completion of an AMA approved School of Radiology Technology or ARRT Certification
BLS certification
ARRT certification or ability to obtain ARRT within 12-months of employment

Responsibilities

Perform radiographs of designated anatomical areas and adjust exposure following safety guidelines.
Explain x-ray procedures to patients.
Position patients for each view using positioning devices and protective equipment.
Assist with fluoroscopic and other radiographic procedures.
Process images and match paperwork for interpretation.
Charge radiographic procedures and modify orders per protocol.
Understand and use the Image Archival System.
Provide education and training to radiology students and staff.
Provide orientation to new technologists.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work herein.
