Job summary

Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for the Diagnostic Imaging department. The role is part-time, 8am–6:30pm on Saturdays and Sundays, servicing inpatients, outpatients, ED, and OR with the DRH team.

The incumbent will operate x-ray equipment, explain procedures, position patients, assist with fluoroscopic procedures, ensure image quality, manage paperwork, and support training within DUHS imaging programs.

Qualifications

• Completion of an AMA approved School of Radiology Technology or ARRT Certification.
• BLS certification and ARRT certification or ability to obtain ARRT within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Operate x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated anatomical areas; adjust exposure per safety guidelines.
• Explain x-ray procedures to patients.
• Position patients for views with appropriate devices and protectives.
• Monitor equipment and assist physicians with fluoroscopic and special radiographic procedures.
• Process images for optimal quality and match with paperwork for interpretation.
• Manage charges for radiographic procedures and modify orders per protocol as needed.
• Understand and use the Image Archival System.
• Provide education and training to DUHS radiology programs and orient new technologists.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work.
