Job summary

Pave Talent is seeking a weekend shift quality control chemist for our client, a contract manufacturer of hair care, skin care, and OTC products in north central Illinois. You will perform hands-on testing of in-process, bulk, and finished products and feed results back to production while batches are live.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Chemistry and 1–3 years of QC experience in a manufacturing setting, with UHPLC and FTIR experience and a strong GMP background.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry is required and non-negotiable.
• 1 to 3 years of hands-on quality control testing in a manufacturing environment.
• Background in personal care, cosmetics, or OTC product manufacturing.
• Comfortable performing batch calculations and making adjustments from your own analytical results.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Weekend shift availability: Friday through Sunday, on-site.

Responsibilities

• Run in-process, bulk, and finished product testing and evaluate results against specification.
• Calculate and execute batch adjustments so product meets spec before it moves.
• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot pH meters, viscometers, conductivity meters, centrifuges, and total solids equipment.
• Flag quality concerns to production in real time and investigate out-of-specification results.
• Maintain testing records, documentation, and GMP/SOP compliance files.
• Collaborate with Production, R&D, and Regulatory on troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
