Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) invites applications for a Psychiatric Nurse - Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Opioid Treatment Program at the Hampton Roads Methadone Clinic in Newport News, Virginia. This part-time role supports adults receiving medication-assisted treatment in a compassionate behavioral health team.
The successful candidate will administer medications, monitor effects, perform nursing assessments, and coordinate care with the treatment team
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited LPN program.
- A current Virginia LPN license in good standing.
- One year of experience administering medications or in substance use treatment/psychiatric/long-term care with narcotic dispensing.
Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications according to physician orders, treatment plans, and program protocols.
- Monitor clients for medication effectiveness, side effects, withdrawal symptoms, and changes in condition.
- Complete nursing assessments and accurately document observations and services provided.
- Assist the treatment team with medication management and coordination of client care.
- Provide health education and supportive nursing interventions.
- Collaborate with counselors and healthcare professionals for coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate medication administration records and clinical documentation.
- Follow federal, state, and agency requirements governing opioid treatment programs.
- Promote a respectful, recovery-focused environment for individuals receiving services.
