Job summary

The Savoy at Fort Lauderdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Florida is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our geriatric care team. The RT will assess and treat residents independently, perform therapies, manage equipment, and document care according to facility protocols.

The ideal candidate holds an AS or BS in Respiratory Care, is licensed as an RRT or CRT in Florida, and has BLS certification. Experience in long-term care and tracheostomy care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program with state license.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT in the practicing state.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory assessments and therapies for residents.
• Initiates therapies, maintains records, operates equipment.
• Delivers bedside treatments and completes quarterly in-services.
• Maintains daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attends applicable IDT meetings.

Schedule

• This will be your standing schedule. We are looking for a RT that can work the following schedule below consistently.
  • 4- 6 hours per shift; maybe up to 8 hours depending on caseload
  • Saturday and Sunday

Respiratory Therapist (RT)

Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain and progress the rehab patients with many different Respiratory illness/diseases and non respiratory illness.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
