Job summary

The Savoy at Fort Lauderdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Florida is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our geriatric care team. The RT will evaluate and treat residents independently, perform respiratory therapies, and participate in care planning.

Responsibilities include bedside treatments, documenting daily, weekly, and monthly progress, and attending IDT meetings. Florida licensure as RRT or CRT and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT; BLS certification required.
• Experience in geriatric respiratory care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques for rehab patients.
• Initiate therapies, maintain records, operate equipment.
• Complete bedside treatments and quarterly in-services for nursing staff.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings and document progress daily/weekly/monthly.
• Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care setting; follow facility protocols.
• Perform caseload tracking, auditing and related duties.

Schedule

• This will be your standing schedule. We are looking for a RT that can work the following schedule below consistently.
  • 4- 6 hours per shift; maybe up to 8 hours depending on caseload
  • Saturday and Sunday

Respiratory Therapist (RT)

Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain and progress the rehab patients with many different Respiratory illness/diseases and non respiratory illness.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing BLS certification.
