Job summary

The Savoy at Fort Lauderdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. The RT will assess and treat residents, initiate therapies, and maintain accurate documentation under standard facility procedures.

Candidates must be licensed in Florida (RRT/CRT) with BLS certification and prior tracheostomy/long-term care experience. A background screen is required for employment at our facility.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program and licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the practicing state; BLS certification.
• Background screening required by Florida rules.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and implement respiratory techniques for rehab patients with various respiratory and non-respiratory conditions.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate and adjust equipment.
• Perform bedside treatments and complete daily, weekly, and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings and participate in caseload management.
• Demonstrate experience with tracheostomy and long-term care settings.

Schedule

• This will be your standing schedule. We are looking for a RT that can work the following schedule below consistently.
  • 4- 6 hours per shift; maybe up to 8 hours depending on caseload
  • Saturday and Sunday

Respiratory Therapist (RT)

Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain and progress the rehab patients with many different Respiratory illness/diseases and non respiratory illness.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
