Job summary

The Savoy at Fort Lauderdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing facility team in Florida. The candidate should be licensed in-state, able to evaluate and treat independently, and dedicated to geriatric patient care.

Responsibilities include conducting assessments, initiating therapies, documenting care, and participating in IDT meetings. Prior LTC experience and tracheostomy experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed in the state of practice as RRT or CRT.
• BLS certification.
• Experience in long-term care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments and implement respiratory techniques to progress rehab patients with respiratory and non-respiratory illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Provide bedside treatments and educate nursing staff quarterly.
• Maintain daily/weekly/monthly documentation and participate in IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care settings; follow facility procedures.

• This will be your standing schedule. We are looking for a RT that can work the following schedule below consistently.
  • 4- 6 hours per shift; maybe up to 8 hours depending on caseload
  • Saturday and Sunday

Respiratory Therapist (RT)

Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain and progress the rehab patients with many different Respiratory illness/diseases and non respiratory illness.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.
