Job summary

The Savoy at Fort Lauderdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. The RT will assess, treat, and document care for geriatric residents, with a focus on independent clinical performance and bedside therapies.

Candidate must hold an active respiratory license in Florida, with BLS certification, and be comfortable with a schedule including Saturday and Sunday shifts. Background screening per Florida requirements applies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Complete respiratory assessments and implement therapies to progress rehab patients.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate and check equipment.
• Perform bedside treatments and complete in-services for nursing staff.
• Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings and manage caseload.
• Experience with tracheotomy and in long-term care settings.
• Follow facility procedures and complete tracking/auditing as required.

Schedule

• This will be your standing schedule. We are looking for a RT that can work the following schedule below consistently.
  • 4- 6 hours per shift; maybe up to 8 hours depending on caseload
  • Saturday and Sunday

Respiratory Therapist (RT)

Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain and progress the rehab patients with many different Respiratory illness/diseases and non respiratory illness.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing BLS certification.
