Job summary

Cardinal Health operates the Health Systems Pharmacy to support hospital pharmacy services, ensuring safe and efficient operations. We are recruiting a PRN Pharmacy Technician to cover vacations and PTO, primarily weekends, with weekday hours 7 AM–10 PM and weekend 8 AM–4:30 PM.

The Technician II assists pharmacists with prescriptions, inventory, and regulatory compliance, communicating with customers to ensure timely order fulfillment.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent preferred.
• State Pharmacy Technician license/registration required.
• National pharmacy technician certification required.
• IV certification required.
• In-patient hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Prior purchasing/buying experience preferred.
• Flexibility in working schedule.
• Ability to work in a group.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Strong customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Pharmacist as needed, permitted by State Boards of Pharmacy.
• Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Inputs patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy information management system.
• Takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves and removes out-of-date items from the inventory.
• Communicates with all customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Maintains knowledge of and abides by all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
