Kelly Science & Clinical seeks a Weekend Supervisor to support the Pesticide Discovery organization in Newark, DE. This role leads a small team, coordinates weekend operations across greenhouses and growth chambers, and helps advance pesticide discovery programs in a research-focused setting.

You will supervise part-time weekend workers (watering and plant care) and ensure propagation, staging, and maintenance meet project requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Science, Agriculture or related field.
• Experience with plant propagation.
• Experience in a research lab, greenhouse, or growth chamber.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Ability to train and coordinate a diverse team.
• Reliability and ability to complete work on schedule.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership.
• Familiarity with safety procedures in lab/greenhouse.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.

Responsabilités

• Oversee and coordinate weekend greenhouse and growth chamber activities.
• Train and coordinate part-time team members for watering and plant care.
• Propagate diverse crop and weed species using soils and media.
• Maintain plants in protected greenhouse and growth chamber settings.
• Learn and apply growing requirements of different species.
• Propagate and stage uniform plant material for pesticide screening.
• Coordinate with research teams for material availability.
• Monitor plant health, growth, and quality; identify issues.
• Follow established protocols and translate instructions into daily tasks.
• Support continuous improvement of propagation methods and sustainability.
• Dispose of unused or poor-quality materials properly.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain records.
• Maintain documentation related to propagation activities.
• Communicate with researchers and technicians to meet timelines.
• Work independently when needed while supporting team objectives.
