Job summary

Delval is seeking a Student Worker - Greenhouse in Doylestown, PA to assist in the production of greenhouse plant material, including food crops and ornamentals, and to help manage hydroponic systems.

Qualifications

• Enrollment at Delaware Valley University is required.
• Willingness to learn greenhouse tasks and adapt to seasonal changes.
• Ability to work independently when needed.

Responsibilities

• Lab preparation for academic classes and labs.
• Harvesting of lettuce, tomatoes, basil, peppers, cucumbers, arugula, etc.
• Adhering to food safety guidelines and GAP Practices
• Assisting with IPM program implementation including scouting, beneficial organism release, and spraying of organic materials
• General growing: seeding, transplanting, spacing, pinching, etc.
• Grading, prepping, transportation of plants for sales, events, and on-campus display.
• Daily upkeep of Greenhouse facilities.
• Occasional outdoor work, and work with Horticulture Production crew.
• Other duties as assigned
