Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is actively seeking a weekend Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our skilled nursing facility team in Canandaigua, NY. You will work alongside licensed therapists to implement the plan of care and support residents in daily activities.

Ideal candidates are graduates of an accredited PTA program with a NY PTA license. We offer mentorship, flexible schedules including evenings and weekends, and a supportive environment with modern rehab equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Must hold a NY PTA license.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist.
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.
• Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
• Collaborate with the PT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members and contribute to team effort.

Education

Current New York State PTA License
