Job summary

New England Homes for the Deaf in Danvers, MA is hiring a Per Diem Cook for weekend shifts. You will prepare meals for residents, follow cycle menus, and ensure meals meet special diet needs. Must be Serve Safe certified and able to work a 2-week rotating schedule.

The role includes training Diet Aides and maintaining kitchen sanitation in a healthcare setting. Benefit package includes health, dental, vision, life insurance after 1 year, 403B, paid holidays, vacation, and PTO.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work a 2-week rotating schedule.
• Restaurant or healthcare cooking experience required.
• Must attend all mandatory in-services.
• All staff are required to take on-site ASL and Culture classes.

Responsibilities

• Cooks/prepares meals according to menu posted in the kitchen.
• Serves meals to each resident, noting their likes and dislikes.
• Cleans cooking utensils, stove and sink after their use.
• Sweeps and damp mops kitchen and pantry floors at each shift.
• Prepares food for special diets.
• Must follow a 3-week cycle menu and read recipes.
• Prepare fancy dishes, pastries.
• Trains and supervises Diet Aides to set, clear, and wash tables; wash dishes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Food Service Director
• Adhere to Attendance policy.
