Job summary

UofL Health in Louisville, KY is seeking a Certified Medical Technologist for weekend shifts in a fast-paced laboratory to perform hematology, chemistry, microbiology testing, specimen collection, and reporting.

Responsibilities include QA/CLIA compliance, use of Allscripts EHR, preparing specimens for reference labs, and contributing to patient care with accurate results and efficient workflows.

Qualifications

• Must have CLIA rules knowledge and OSHA awareness.
• Experience in hematology, urinalysis, microscopy and blood collection preferred.
• CLIA certification and adherence to quality standards are required.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens and perform hematology, chemistry and microbiology testing in house.
• Perform urinalysis, microscopy, rapid strep screens and throat cultures as ordered.
• Communicate with reference laboratory about specimens and procedures.
• Maintain QA and prepare for CLIA inspections; perform proficiency testing.
• Utilize Allscripts EHR for reporting tests and communication with providers.
• Maintain inventory and calibration of laboratory instruments.
• Keep statistics of laboratory tests and ensure specimen integrity.
• Protect patient confidentiality at all times.
