Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Augusta is seeking a Patient Transporter to efficiently move patients, patient belongings, prosthetics and medical equipment within the hospital following safety policies and department guidelines.

You will greet and assist customers, aid clinical staff in transfers from beds or stretchers, transport items and specimens, support cleaning and maintenance of supplies, and help move medical equipment. Weekend shifts (Sat/Sun 0800–2030) apply.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required.
• Prior Healthcare and/or Customer Service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist clinical personnel in transferring patients to and from beds, wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Transport patients safely in wheelchair, stretcher or ambulating facing forward with safety rails.
• Use positioning aides to provide safety and comfort for patients.
• Transport items with patients or separately such as oxygen or IV stands.
• Maintain therapeutic communication with patients.
• Assist in cleaning and maintenance of supplies and movement of medical equipment.
