Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Transporter to move patients, equipment and specimens across departments. Under supervision, you will ensure timely, safe transport and assist with patient handoffs.

The role requires 6–12 months of experience in customer service or patient transport, the ability to lift and move heavy items, and a commitment to patient dignity and safety in a fast-paced hospital environment. Full-time schedule includes rotating weekends and holidays, with standard benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 6–12 months of experience in customer service or patient transportation.
• Heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing required.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients, specimens, equipment and related items safely within the hospital.
• Greets patients, families, visitors and staff in a courteous, professional manner.
• Verifies patient identification and destination before transport; maintains transport logs.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of transport equipment and documentation.
