The Hughston Clinic is seeking a dedicated Patient Transporter to move patients, equipment, and specimens safely within the hospital. Under supervision, you will assist patients in and out of bed and transport them between departments, radiology, and surgery areas, ensuring courteous service and infection control.
Requirements include at least one year of relevant experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and BLS certification prior to transporting patients without clinical staff.
Under the supervision of the house supervisor, the patient transporter performs duties necessary to provide safe, courteous, and efficient transport of patients, equipment, supplies, and specimens to and from patient care areas and departments within the hospital. The goal of this position is to assist patients in and out of bed or, using wheelchairs or stretchers, to transport patients from the emergency room to a room, from one room to another, to a specialized area such as Radiology for a procedure, or down to the lobby for checkout. The patient transporter will also assist in transporting surgery patients to Outpatient surgery on the day of surgery, as well as transporting direct admissions to their assigned rooms.
