Job summary

Genus PLC is seeking a Temporary Part-time Production Lab Technician for our Rio, WI and Windsor, WI labs. The role focuses on operating production equipment for processing cell sexing technology and supports packaging activities. This three-month assignment may extend based on workload and program needs.

Ideal for students or early-career applicants, with opportunities to engage in Youth Apprenticeship and MATC programs and to gain hands-on lab experience while completing education commitments.

Qualifications

• Must possess or be working toward a local High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be enrolled in and attending a local course of education either in high school, GED program, technical college or university.
• Must live locally, no relocation authorized for this role.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift/transfer 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Strong attention to detail and focus on always maintaining the highest level of quality.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.
• Ability to utilize a computer, keyboard, and mouse to accomplish work tasks.
• Ability to work well within a team environment.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Follow SOP and maintain lab documentation, provide accurate, timely and quality packaging of bovine semen in accordance with ABS standards.
• Learn other ancillary processes throughout the production lab as business needs necessitate.
• Adhere to proper cleaning, sanitation and sterilization protocols for all processing and collection equipment.
• Provide ideas for improvement in the work environment.
• Communicate issues to appropriate personnel (leads, supervisors, manager, support group).
• Perform all assigned duties based on daily production needs.
• Follow safe work procedures and report any incidents.
• Perform other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
