Job summary

STgenetics is seeking a Lab Technician in Wisconsin to join our high-quality laboratory team. The role emphasizes hands-on training, progression, and a defined pathway to increasing technical responsibility within the lab.

Initially applying foundational skills such as flow cytometry and sperm physiology, you will train under the Lab Manager and gain experience operating multiple sorters, supporting operations, and mentoring newer staff. Evening and weekend shifts are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 2+ years’ related experience or equivalent education.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work any shift; including evenings, nights and weekends.
• Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access.

Responsibilities

• Arrive on time for all scheduled shifts and communicate with all team members in a professional manner.
• Operate and maintain sorters and lab computers for data entry.
• Participate in daily production of sexed semen with emphasis on sterility and semen quality.
• Perform daily job duties to include sorter startup, calibration, sort setup and shutdown.
• Sorter cleaning, sterilization and bacterial testing.
• Use sterile techniques at all times to avoid contaminating any laboratory areas, samples or instrumentation.
• Use various software applications to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or test reports.
• Follow universal safety precautions to protect self and co-workers from biohazardous materials.
• Handle potentially hazardous chemical and biological agents and/or radiation sources safely.
• Monitor inventory levels and proper storage of materials and supplies.
• Keep knowledge of vendors and suppliers of laboratory materials up to date.
