Loparex is seeking a Lab Technician for the Hammond, WI team. You will work with production to ensure quality product standards and perform various tests including coat weights, moisture, and adhesion.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Cut, identify, and prepare samples from production for testing; document results.
• Test for coat weights, adhesion, release, extractables, moisture, and physical properties.
• Inspect samples for defects and ensure material conformance; report issues.
• Enter data into quality databases and spreadsheets as required.
• Prepare samples for customers and store them appropriately.
• Assist in training new lab staff and keep the lab organized at shift end.

Job description

Loparex is looking for a Lab Technician to join our Hammond, WI team! A Lab Technician works with production to ensure a quality product is produced to the customer standards by performing quality checks and following established safety and production procedure. This position will be working a 2-2-3 sch. 2 days during the week and every other weekend. This schedule will go into effect in the near future, until then it is a Monday-Friday schedule with one day off during the week, 12 hour days. 5 am to 5 pm.

• Coater 3 additional premium
• $2.00/hr premium for the 2-2-3

Responsibilities

Job Duties:

• Cut, identify, and prepare samples of retains from production for testing, document results. Testing includes:
  • Coat Weights
  • Subsequent Adhesions
  • Release, including various wet casts and tape test
  • Extractables
  • Moisture
  • Lay flat testing
  • Physical property testing including but not limited to; basis weight, caliper, tensile, tear, gloss, and Polybond.
• Inspect samples for defects and ensure that material conforms to requirements; inform appropriate personnel when defects are found.
• Perform data entry into various computer databases (including internal rejects, reworks, PRISM< QDMS< shop floor, and excel spreadsheets) as required by quality assurance procedures.
• Put retain samples into cores for customers.
• Store internal samples into cores for customers
• File 8 1/2x 11 samples from production, document samples into spreadsheet provided.
• Purge files when needed.
• Assist quality and production in tagging or removing labels from nonconforming material (red, orange, blue)
• Assist in orientation and training or any new lab tech assigned to the shift.
• At the end of each shift make sure quality lab is clean and organized.
• Perform other associated duties, as assigned.

Skills and Experience

• Good written and oral communication skills, including ability to read and interpret test procedures
