Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network in Bethlehem, PA, seeks a CT Technologist to assist radiologists during invasive procedures and perform CT examinations.

You'll communicate findings, inject contrast, complete patient questionnaires, and ensure image quality sent to PACS. Requirements include ARRT CT credentials, NJ/AMA pathway or ARRT registration, and CPR/BLS certification; weekend overnight shift is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an ARRT-recognized education program in radiologic technology.
• Advanced CT registry required; must pass within 1 year of hire.
• NJ candidate: AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology; A.A.S. preferred; 1+ year CT experience.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• State license (NJDEP) and ARRT registry are required.

Responsibilities

• Directly assists Radiologist during invasive procedures and performs CT scans as directed by the Radiologist.
• Communicates clinical observations during CT Scan examinations to Radiologist.
• Presents clinical history as recorded on appropriate documentation to Radiologist.
• Demonstrates competency in RIS/HIS modules relevant to responsibilities.
• Injects contrast for CT Scans per department policy.
• Patient CT questionnaire is completed for each patient and reviewed prior to start of exam.
• Performs 3-D imaging functions.
• Provides educational information to the patient regarding their examination.
• Maintains responsibility for own professional development through in-services and/or continuing education.
• Adheres to downtime procedures to ensure accurate information is available for continuity of care.
• Verifies correct patient from worklist and accuracy of Medical Record information before PACS send.
• Resposible for the success of the department to achieve hospital designated Press Ganey score.
• Each patient should receive education and your personalized business card.
• Administers event reports per hospital guidelines.
• Notifies RN of any patient problems or reactions.
• Schedules CT scans and assists with secretarial duties and film/file pulling.
• Maintains inventory and appearance of the CT Scan Room per dept budget.
• Speaks to teaching radiology students rotating through CT Scan.
