Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Active RN license and CPR required; ACLS and PALS within 90 days of hire or transfer.
• Previous OR nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient health, discuss the procedure, and alleviate concerns.
• Prepare the patient for surgery, administer medications, start IVs, verify site.
• Ensure the operating room is sterile, clean, and well stocked.
• Monitor vital signs and anesthesia during the procedure.
• Assist surgeon and staff by passing instruments and supplies as needed.
• Maintain sterile field and infection control protocols.
• Provide and monitor care as the patient recovers from anesthesia.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and follow-up.
