The Palms Home Care is seeking an experienced and dependable Registered Nurse to provide dedicated weekend on-call support for our home health patients throughout the Sarasota and Bradenton areas. This is an excellent opportunity for an RN looking to earn additional income through a consistent weekend on-call schedule.

Position Responsibilities

• Answer and triage after-hours calls from patients and families.

• Provide clinical guidance and support by phone when appropriate.

• Assist patients experiencing complications, particularly urology and postoperative concerns.

• Determine when an in-person nursing visit is medically necessary.

• Travel to patients’ homes during evenings or weekends when an urgent need cannot be resolved by phone.

• Communicate patient concerns and interventions to the appropriate clinical team.

• Complete timely and accurate documentation of all calls and visits.

• Follow agency policies, physician orders, and established clinical protocols.

Availability Requirements:

• Remain available by phone from Friday at 5:00 p.m. through Monday at 8:00 a.m.

• Evening and weekend availability for in-person visits is required.

• Be able to respond promptly and travel throughout the Sarasota–Bradenton service area when needed.

• Candidates located in or near Sarasota or Bradenton are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Florida RN license.

• Previous home health, urology, postoperative, or on-call nursing experience preferred.

• Strong clinical assessment and telephone-triage skills.

• Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions.

• Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and current automobile insurance.

• Strong communication, documentation, and patient-service skills.

Compensation

• $250 weekend on-call stipend for covering Friday at 5:00 p.m. through Monday at 8:00 a.m.

• Additional per-visit compensation for all completed home visits.

• Mileage reimbursement at $0.67 per mile for required patient visits.
