Job summary

Embark Care is seeking weekend on-call caregivers to support last-minute staffing needs. You will be ready to accept assignments any time during weekends, with a company vehicle provided or a gas allowance to travel to clients.

Compensation includes on-call and hourly rates, plus a $150 stipend or travel time when on assignments, reflecting our commitment to reliable weekend coverage and quality in-home care.

Qualifications

• Must have verifiable relevant experience with memory care; transference experience preferred.
• Must have valid Driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must pass agency background checks and drug screen; presentable and professional.

Responsibilities

• Be available to take any assignment 24 hours a day while on-call.
• Attend scheduled staff meetings.
• Be prepared to take on any assignments for which you are qualified (Homemaker/Companion; Home Care Aid/Caregiver).

Weekend On-Call Policy

Purpose of the Weekend On-Call Position:

The purpose of the on-call position is to assist the agency with last minute staffing needs. This is accomplished by paying a qualified caregiver to be ready to pick up last minute assignments at any time, for any client scheduled on the weekend. The on-call person will have a company vehicle available or, will receive a gas allowance.

What does On-Call pay?

• $14.00 per hour minimum, while you are on a shift work assignment.
• $10.00 per hour, while you are on a 24hour assignment.
• $150.00 stipend + hourly rate per hours worked.
• Paid travel time at hourly rate to and from all assignments while on call.

What are my duties?

• Be available to take any assignment 24 hours a day, while you are on-call.
• Attend scheduled staff meetings.
• Be prepared to take on any of the following assignments for which you are qualified:

• All duties outlined in the Homemaker/Companion job description.
• All duties outlined in the Home Care Aid/Caregiver job description.

What else do I need to know?

• An on-call shift is from Friday Afternoon 4:00pm through Monday at Noon, 12:00pm.
• If you turn down, or are unreachable for an on-call assignment while you are on duty, we will re-evaluate the status of the position upon discussion of events pertaining to the absence/refusal and you will forfeit your on-call incentive pay. If a shift is refused, you will only be paid at the agreed upon hourly rate for confirmed service hours worked.
• You are required to report to your assignment in a timely manner as determined by the office when assigning you to the case. Calls from the office must be returned within 15 minutes.

Requirements:

• Verifiable relevant experience (memory care and transference experience is preferred)
• Valid Driver License
• Reliable transportation with current auto insurance (you will still be driving a company car)
• Be able to pass agency background checks
• Be able to pass a drug screen
• Be presentable and willing to represent the agency's high standards of care
