Job summary

Brighton/Suncrest Hospice is seeking a Weekend Nursing Supervisor to lead the hospice clinical team under the Director of Nursing. You will hire, mentor, and coordinate weekend nursing staff, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to regulations.

You will monitor performance, support QA initiatives, manage weekend coverage, and collaborate with case managers and care teams to address patient needs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of healthcare experience, hospice preferred.
• 2+ years of leadership experience in healthcare.
• Current RN license in good standing in the state(s) of practice.
• Strong leadership, communication, and QA skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall direction to the hospice clinical team under the Director.
• Hire qualified hospice personnel and coordinate their evaluations.
• Establish standards of care to comply with federal and state regulations.
• Monitor nursing staff performance and address QA issues.
• Schedule and weekend tracker; train and mentor weekend nurses.

The Weekend Nursing Supervisor works under the Director to provide overall direction to the hospice clinical team. They are responsible for hiring of qualified hospice personnel: the provision of hospice services, directly, and the delegation to and coordination of hospice personnel evaluations; and establishing standards of care to comply with federal and state regulations and guidelines. The duties include but are not limited to:

• Implement policies, procedures, and best practices for operations.
• Monitoring nursing staff performance and addressing any QA issues
• Clinical policy and procedure support
• Assisting the Director in identifying & resolving nursing department deficiencies
• Monitoring implementation of correction plans
• Scheduling and weekend tracker
• Training of new nurses with ongoing mentorship and training of our weekend team
• Sending follow ups to case managers for medication refills and Supply needs
• Sending emails regarding open visits and getting nurses to close all visits.
• Reviewing triage report from previous night.
• Helping find Admission coverage
• Changes in patient conditions, coordinating with care team for patients and families.
• Send out emails for open visits to overnight nurses.
• Attend clinical leader meetings and admissions meeting
• Coverage for overnight: back up for questions or navigating changes in the overnight space.
• VA reports
• Complaint reports –moving to QAPI+
• Performance discussions
• Help with Initial and Annualcompetencies

Qualifications

• Strong, results-driven leader with excellent organizational, strategic, analytical, and project management skills.
• Exceptional communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate, mentor, and influence others.
• 5+ years of healthcare experience preferred, with hospice experience strongly preferred.
• 2+ years of leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in the state(s) of practice.
