Responsibilities

• Supervises Licensed Nurses and other nursing personnel in care delivery according to resident plans.
• Ensures compliance with federal and state laws and facility policies.
• Maintains HIPAA privacy practices for resident and employee records.
• Ensures use and maintenance of PPE as required by safety standards.
• Conducts daily rounds to assess resident condition and staffing needs.
• Develops nursing policies reflecting current practice in coordination with the DNS.
• Manages facility operations under the Director of Nursing guidance.
• Documents shift reports and notes significant condition changes or incidents.
• Monitors quality standards and regulatory compliance through rounds and audits.
• Collaborates with other departments and agencies to coordinate resident care.
• Reports information to the ADNS/DNS and supports interdisciplinary team communication.
• Provides infection control programs and surveillance to prevent disease transmission.
• Coordinates vaccination programs and post-exposure follow-up.
• Develops orientation and in-service training for new staff.
• Screens admissions for level of care and expected needs.
• Audits care plans for accuracy and measurable goals.
• Maintains staff schedules and addresses staffing shortages promptly.
• Supports long-term care survey preparation and corrective actions when needed.
• Assists with medication administration and treatment planning where required.
