Job summary

Genesis HealthCare – Casa Real in Santa Fe, NM seeks an experienced LPN Nursing Supervisor for weekend coverage. The role guides nursing operations, supports patient care quality, and collaborates with the DON to ensure 24/7 nursing coverage and staff development.

Responsibilities

• Leads clinical operations and care delivery across nursing units; ensures compliance with policies and standards.
• Collaborates with the DON to maintain adequate nursing coverage 24/7.
• Participates in interviewing nursing vacancies and assesses staff performance.
• Identifies staff educational needs and communicates with Nurse Practice Educator (NPE).
• Ensures assignments match staff competencies and patient needs.
• Supports the DON in strong Quality Improvement processes for the nursing department.

Responsibilities

The LPN Nursing Supervisor supports the delivery of efficient and effective nursing care while achieving positive clinical outcomes, and patient/family and employee satisfaction during a designated shift. This individual leads, guides and directs the clinical operations, care delivery model of the nursing units including ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, practice standards and regulations. The LPN Nursing Supervisor serves as a clinical operational liaison between the units and the Director of Nursing (DON), Assistant Director of Nursing and Unit Managers.

• Collaborates with the DON to maintain adequate nursing coverage to provide safe nursing care for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
• Participates in the interview process for nursing vacancies and assesses the performance of existing employees.
• Identifies educational needs of the staff and communicates needs to the Nurse Practice Educator (NPE) so they can be addressed.
• Ensures patient care assignments are consistent with staff competencies, scope of practice and the needs of the patients.
• Supports the DON in employing a strong Quality Improvement process for the nursing department.
