Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, active LPN license.
• Experience in long term geriatric nursing care preferred.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information in English.
• Clear verbal communication in English.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measurement.
• Demonstrates empathy with strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, and treatments.
• Record time spent performing treatments in the EMR per policy.
• Ensure proper storage and security of prescription drugs and biologicals.
• Notify physician of refusals, non-compliance, and adverse reactions.
• Keep medication cart, refrigerator, and room neat and properly stored.
• Dispose of sharps safely.
• Enter key information into computer systems including EMR.
• Practice Infection Control and safety policies; supervise procedures.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and disasters.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
