Job summary

Universal Health Services is seeking a Weekend Mental Health Aide (MHA) for Laurel Heights Hospital in Atlanta, GA. The role supports children and adolescents with diverse psychiatric and behavioral needs, maintaining a safe therapeutic milieu under a clinical team.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, observing patient health, and coordinating with education and therapy staff. Must be able to work every other weekend and pass a drug test within 24 hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required. A BA/BS in a related mental health field is preferred.
• Previous experience with behavioral health patients, children/adolescents, or special needs population is preferred.
• CPR certification and age-specific training, plus current aggression management training within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of clinical team to maintain a therapeutic milieu.
• Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and daily living activities.
• Observe residents and report changes in health or medication needs to supervisors.
• Maintain patient health records and data with accuracy.
• Support individuals during learning activities and community-based ADLs.
• Assist in safety procedures, meal prep, and facility cleanliness.
• Work weekends as required (every other weekend).
• Collaborate with teachers, BCBA, RBT, and education/recreation therapy staff.
