Job summary

Laurel Heights Hospital in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Part-time Mental Health Aide for the 2nd shift to support children and adolescents with psychiatric and behavioral needs, including those on the autism spectrum.

You will work under a clinical team to maintain a safe therapeutic milieu, assist with ADLs, monitor health changes, and support education and recreation therapies. CPR certification is required within 90 days, and weekend coverage is expected.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; BA/BS in a related mental health field preferred.
• Experience: Prior work with behavioral health patients, children, adolescents, or special needs population preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: CPR certification and age-specific training; current patient aggression management training within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under clinical supervision to maintain a therapeutic milieu.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal hygiene and appearance.
• Observe and record patient health data; monitor changes in health and medication-related issues.
• Collaborate with education, recreation therapy, BCBA, and RBT staff; assist in classroom as needed.
• Perform Q15 observation rounds and maintain a safe environment; crisis intervention as required.
