Job summary

Fountain View is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join the Weekend Warrior Night Shift Team in our ventilator and skilled nursing unit in Cincinnati, OH.

The RT will provide comprehensive respiratory care during 12-hour overnight shifts, collaborate with nurses and physicians, monitor ventilators, perform airway management, and respond to emergencies to maintain safety and high-quality care overnight.

Qualifications

• Active Ohio Respiratory Therapist license (RRT or CRT) is required.
• Ventilator experience in SNF, LTACH, hospital, ICU, or pulmonary unit preferred.
• Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions overnight.
• Excellent communication and thorough documentation skills are essential.
• Skilled nursing, long-term care, or ventilator unit experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor ventilators and respiratory equipment.
• Assess residents' respiratory status and respond promptly to changes.
• Administer respiratory treatments and therapies as ordered.
• Perform trach care, suctioning, and airway management.
• Ensure ventilator alarms, settings, and equipment are functioning properly.
• Accurately document assessments, treatments, and interventions.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and leadership overnight.
• Maintain infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Respond to respiratory emergencies and provide critical clinical support.
• Promote resident comfort, safety, and quality care during overnight hours.
