Job summary

Texas Health Fort Worth is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Specialty Hospital location. The role is part-time on weekend nights, totaling 24 hours per week, with shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. The position emphasizes patient care, teamwork, and safety in a high‑acuity environment.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, CLIA compliance, and PCT training or THR-approved program. EMT or nursing student pathways may apply; BCLS and CPI training are required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent required.
• CLIAFE must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency.
• PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, THR approved program; not required to maintain certification after hire.
• EMT - Emergency Medical Technician or equivalent; Upon Hire Required.
• Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program; Upon Hire Required.
• 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification; Upon Hire Required.
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care; Maintained quarterly.
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required.
• Possesses organizational skills for fast-paced environment; good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Nursing students or EMTs without active EMT status may continue if demonstrate PCT skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care and assistance based on the plan of care and patient/family preferences.
• Collects and reports patient data; supports admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Performs technical procedures safely and documents care accurately.
• Collaborates with nurses to adapt care for diverse populations and cultural needs.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment and proactively meets patient and visitor needs.
• Demonstrates teamwork, flexibility, and effective communication across disciplines.
• Participates in process improvement, adheres to safety goals, and advocates for patients.
