Job summary

Dawn Foods in Jackson, Michigan, is seeking a Part Time Machine Operator I for Friday and Saturday, 6:00 pm to 6:00 am. You will handle raw materials, mix formulas, and package products for shipping at our Jackson Manufacturing Plant.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (food manufacturing experience a plus) and the ability to read safety instructions and operate a production computer. Forklift certification is helpful, with on-site training and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Food manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions; write routine reports.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all produced product meets specifications and food safety/regulatory requirements.
• Maintain GMP, AIB, IFS and HACCP standards and housekeeping.
• Operate the production computer system as required.
• Operate auxiliary equipment as needed for each function.
• Follow safety procedures per SOPs and batch cards to ensure quality.
• Use handheld barcode scanner to record raw materials and finished product; ensure traceability.
• Maintain SSOPs and GMPs including checks and lot/batch verification.
• Communicate quality, safety and scheduling issues to lead/supervisor.
• Assist in training new team members.
