Job summary

WTOV is seeking a Newscast Director for weekend 6, 10 and 11 p.m. newscasts and to join the production crew in our remote production trailer.

The role involves directing, producing, and adding digital stories to the website, with opportunities to work on sports telecasts and other special projects. The candidate will work closely with Producers, manage remote crews, and maintain studio and control room efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience directing and producing newscasts.
• Familiarity with Ross, Overdrive and SAGA systems.
• Ability to lead crew under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Direct and cue assigned newscasts and productions using our automation systems.
• Produce shows and add digital stories to the website as directed.
• Collaborate with Producers on news productions and special projects.
• Support remote production crew on sports telecasts; may direct, operate cameras, handle replay, graphics or audio; assist setup and teardown.
• Maintain the production studio and control room.
• Keep studio equipment and production areas organized, clean, and ready at start of shift.
• Collaborate with management to enhance quality of newscasts, workflows and operations.
