Job summary

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and protocols. This per diem/PRN evening shift supports the Mother Baby department, with a 7p-7a schedule and non-FTE status.

The role emphasizes patient condition monitoring, care coordination across disciplines, important discharge planning, patient education, and adherence to the Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate's degree or Diploma in Nursing.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required within 5 years.
• RN licensed in Kentucky with BLS within 45 days and NRP within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs functions related to problem definition, data collection, interpretation and analysis, Implements and monitors patient care plans.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with patient/family and members of the healthcare team.
• Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.
• Performs job duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
