Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Part-time Weekend MRI Technologist I to join the team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Hours are Saturday and Sunday, every other 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with supervision for routine and specialized MRI imaging.

The role includes patient screening, contrast administration, safety protocols, QA, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Requires an Associate’s degree and MRI certificate, with ARMRIT/ARRT‑MRI within 1 year of hire, plus CPR.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent required.
• Certificate in radiologic technology or MRI from an accredited program.
• Experience in MRI or related imaging modalities; MRI certificate or cross-training acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI examinations across diverse patient populations with proper factors and protocols.
• Screen and prepare patients, verify orders, administer contrast, and educate for safety.
• Maintain MRI safety standards and follow institutional/regulatory guidelines.
• Conduct quality assurance, monitor equipment, and report malfunctions.
• Coordinate patient flow, document in EHR, and ensure timely image transfer to PACS.
