Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist for a weekend, full-time role at the Round Rock Medical Center in Round Rock, TX.

The MRI Technologist will perform diagnostic MRI procedures, ensure safety screenings, and maintain high-quality images under radiologist supervision. This position emphasizes weekend coverage with a comprehensive benefits package and ongoing professional collaboration.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
• Less than 1 year of experience
• Certified by ARRT MR or ARMRIT in MRI

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MRI examinations according to physician orders and department standards.
• Review imaging requests and histories to confirm correct examination and patient.
• Conduct comprehensive MRI safety screenings for patients, visitors and staff.
• Explain MRI procedures and help patients feel comfortable during the examination.
• Assess patient tolerance and respond to clinical needs during the procedure.
• Position patients and select coils, sequences, parameters and equipment settings.
• Monitor image quality and adjust to obtain diagnostic-quality studies.
• Maintain documentation including patient history, pregnancy status and safety-screening info.
• Enter and maintain imaging records in the medical imaging systems for timely interpretation.
• Maintain MRI equipment, supplies and work areas per quality standards.
• Report equipment concerns and collaborate with engineers and leadership.
• Respond calmly during emergencies and assist with first aid and safety procedures.
• Assist with training and precepting new MRI team members when requested.
• Participate in call coverage if required by the department.
