Job summary

Cornerstone Caregiving in San Diego, CA is seeking a Weekend Morning Caregiver to support a female senior living with dementia in a memory care facility. The role focuses on morning companionship, activities, personal care, and safety supervision on Saturdays and Sundays, 6:00 AM-2:00 PM.

The ideal candidate is cheerful, patient, and proactive, with at least 1 year of caregiving experience and dementia care exposure.

Qualifications

• 1 year caregiving experience preferred.
• Dementia or Alzheimer's care experience preferred.
• Ability to pass a background check required.
• California HCA registration or willingness to obtain it.
• TB clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with morning grooming, dressing, and daily routines.
• Provide one-on-one companionship and conversation.
• Encourage participation in weekend facility activities.
• Accompany the client on safe walks in approved areas.
• Provide reassurance and redirection during confusion.
• Monitor wandering and exit-seeking behaviors.
• Encourage meals, hydration, and social engagement.
• Assist with toileting and personal hygiene as needed.
• Coordinate with facility staff and communicate client updates.

DESCRIPTION

Looking for a consistent weekend caregiving opportunity where you can make a meaningful difference? Cornerstone Caregiving is seeking a compassionate and engaging Weekend Morning Caregiver for a female senior living with dementia in a memory care facility. This position focuses on morning companionship, daily activities, personal care, and safety supervision. Our client benefits from a caregiver who can provide a reassuring presence, encourage enjoyable activities, and calmly redirect her when she becomes confused or attempts to leave the facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist with morning grooming, dressing, and daily routines

Ideal Caregiver

We're looking for someone who is cheerful, patient, attentive, proactive, and comfortable supporting seniors with dementia. You should enjoy spending meaningful time with clients while remaining alert to behavioral changes and safety concerns. Experience with wandering, anxiety, and dementia-related redirection is highly preferred.

Qualifications
