Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion, IA is hiring a Medical Lab Technician / Medical Technologist for weekend package nights. The MLT/MT will operate across benches—Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and PCR—while performing phlebotomy for all ages and ensuring QA data remains within specification.

The role requires meeting CLIA/HIPAA/OSHA standards and includes training for DOT urine drug screens and Breath Alcohol testing.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Science/MLT for MLT tier or Bachelor’s for MLS/MT tier.
• BLS and Mandatory Reporter certifications (or obtained within 6 months of hire).
• Strong independent decision-making skills while operating solo on shift.

Responsabilités

• Maintain technical competency and independently operate benches in Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and PCR analysis.
• Perform phlebotomy on all patient age groups.
• Monitor, evaluate, and act upon QA data to maintain testing precision.
• Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and hospital safety regulations.
• Be trained in DOT Urine Drug screen collections and Breath Alcohol.
